Progress photos after 2 years plus from last update

"I try to go for tightness, tightness, tightness. Boom, boom, boom, you know?" - Sylvester Stallone - Vanity Fair 1993 commenting on his physical condition at 47. That's my goal too. Photos from Aug. 30, 2022.

Update from Feb. 12

Still hitting hard after changing my routine 2 weeks ago and cracking a rib a month ago while working out.

Update Jan. 9, 2020

Heading into my 42nd year of weight training since age 15 and arguably in my best condition ever and spending much less time doing it. Sure, I've been bigger by 20 plus lbs but not this lean with decent muscle development. Feel great with zero joint pain due to an anti inflammatory eating lifestyle and working out correctly with slow, strict movements making every rep count.

New year's eve update

Working on staying in my best shape heading into the new year at 55. Lean for life is my motto (taken from Clarence (RIPPED) Bass).

Oct. 7 update

After last night's workout. At 55 and some change, just moving forward with one of my passions. Striving to get better and better with healthier eating and smarter training. It's an art form I believe.

Aug. 12 update

Continuing my experimentation with the VERY infrequent low volume workouts to avoid over training and stay lean year round. It seems to be working.

July 24 update

Pics from July 24th. Changed my routine to working small muscle groups only 1 x every 3 weeks, larger groups 2 x every 3 weeks, and 2 weaker muscles groups 1 x week. Saves a lot of time to do other things. Some important keys are doing it hard (1 set except for legs and chest) and staying on point with the healthy eating along with intermittent fasting.

NEW progress photos from April 26, 2015

Went back to the drawing board so to speak and made some small adjustments and working towards best shape ever by 51st birthday coming up soon. Before, I was getting too comfortable with the "minimalist approach" and went a little too far on minimizing albeit very hard set/reps per body part. I still do that approach and still do basically one hard set per body part with the exception of one or two lagging body parts that need to be hit hard from different angles therefore including multiple sets.

NEW progress photos from Dec. 9, 2014

Keeping it going with the hard once a week workouts. Tuesday's upper body workout was very effective doing negative only pullups, all rest pause chest work, etc. Next is legs on Saturday.

NEW progress photos from Nov. 17th, 2014

Staying motivated and working hard and being disciplined with the eating. It's just a matter of getting into the groove and seeing yourself as you envisioned motivates you that much more. It has a snowball effect.
